Ami like Miami is a Bipoc artist of East Indian and Ukrainian descent living and working on the unceded Traditional Coast Salish Lands including the Tsleil-Waututh (səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ), Kwikwetlem (kʷikʷəƛ̓əm), Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw) and Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm) Nations. Ami graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2009, and although she never learned ceramics in school, she went on to be self taught and fell in love. Ami continues to explore with clay, and hopes to build community and support for others who wish to work with ceramics as a medium to heal.
